“VOYAGE”: From Bern around the world

Where has the Rendez-vous Bundesplatz taken us? Into the depths of the forest, to the furthest point in the ocean and even to the moon. What other destination could there be? We have a suggestion: how about travelling around the world?

On land, on water and in the air – in the spirit of Jules Verne, the 15th Light and Sound Spectacle invites visitors to travel to some of the world’s most famous landmarks. Starting in Bern, they will travel across the Alps to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the pyramids of Giza, the Taj Mahal in India and even to Lhasa in Tibet. The Cristo statue in Rio de Janeiro, the Statue of Liberty in New York and London’s Big Ben are also among the stops on this special round-the-world tour.

Premiere: live music and singing for the first time

While the Bundeshaus is transformed from a historic hot-air balloon into a steam locomotive and finally a sailing ship, music from various cultures and eras of our time will be played on the Bundesplatz. Particularly impressive: for the first time, some sequences of the spectacle will be accompanied by live music and singing – arranged by the Swiss musicians’ collective “Take This”, who in the person of Andreas Renggli and Christoph Fluri also arranged and composed the music for some of the scenes.
