Visit Berne – Federal city and world heritage

Getting here: travelling to “Rendez-vous Bundesplatz” is simple and straightforward

We recommend that you come here by public transport. From Berne station, you can reach the Bundesplatz in just a few minutes’ walk and from the entire municipal area conveniently with Bern Mobil.

Are you coming by car? Then you are familiar with the problem of trying to find a parking space in the city centre. The parking guidance system of the Berne car parks provides quick and straightforward assistance here. At you can already see before you set off, where and how many parking spaces are vacant. En route, you simply dial the free-of-charge number 0800 727 536 and you will be informed about the number and location of vacant parking spaces at any time.

Safety takes precedence

Securitas has been helping us to set up “Rendez-vous Bundesplatz” since as early as 2011; they ensure safety. The City of Bern will also attend the party and watch over the Bundesplatz (Federal square). All public and private transport will be redirected during each show so that the shows can take place undisturbed.

A Samaritans vehicle will be stationed at the Bundesplatz for all events.

The red zone

The red zone on the Bundesplatz is reserved for wheelchair users and, new this year, for little astronauts – so they don’t have tall people blocking their view. The “red zone” is an initiative of Starlight Events and possible thanks to the support of Berner Kantonalbank and Stiftung Cerebral.

Mummy, I need the toilet…

Sometimes, it is urgent… There are no WC facilities available on the Bundesplatz itself. However, before or after the event, visitors to “Rendez-vous Bundesplatz” can use the public WC facilities of the Bernese multi-storey car parks in the city centre or the public WC facilities at Berne station.
